Take a wild guess. The place I am going to talk to you about is the epitome of rules, yet you feel most liberated here. You are forced to live within restrictions, yet you experience the freedom to no bounds. Any guesses?? Not yet, ok last clue: A place where strangers become family.
I read these lines and could not agree more: “First day- Tears looking at unfamiliar faces.
Last day- Tears coming out seeing familiar faces.” Between these two days, hostel life happened.
Well yes! It is a hostel, and I am one such fortunate soul to have lived that life. This lockdown has given me the chance to stumble upon some old friends. In the era of social networking, the world may seem to have maintained contact but has actually lost touch. To my long-lost friends, I would like to take you all on a journey to the flashback. Dedicated to you all!
Bas yaadein reh gayi….

It all started with college:
Nikle the padhne but mil gaye apne.
Hasna rona roothna manana, sab sath deka,
Par college k baad kyu sath chuta?
Fresher’s se farewell tak ka safar tha itna khushnuma,
Humsafar chalte chalte bann gaye aashna..
Chahe wo ragging ho ya mess se khana churana,
Fake LG pass banake fest me jana,
Laptop pe movies aur kettle ki maggi.
Wo plastic wali malai aur sham ko kidwai.
Food lab se khana bachake lana aur fir bhukkad k tarah tut padhna.
Raat bhar jag kar exam ki taiyari karna.
Earphones pe phus-phusana, aur warden pe chillana.
Sham ko 7 baje ka deadline, aur ni pahuche toh agle subah ki headline.
Hostel ka khana shayad beswad ho par zindagi me swad bhadh dya,
aise dost deke har gam bhula dya.
Inn yado ko sanjoke hum bhi aage badh gaye, aj palatke deka toh 10 saal guzar gaye.
Wo safar b kitna suhana tha,
aj zimmedariyo tale mehsus hua,
wo bhi bachpana tha.
Koi lauta de wo din, jee le unn palo ko dobara,
Sath baith firse hass le zara sa!
