What makes you smile in your thoughts?
What makes you remember someone for so long?
What makes your heart cry in loneliness?
What creates a void and emptiness?
What contributes to visual perception?
What makes you live through dejection?
Memories…….
Artificial and human intelligence both possess memory to store and retrieve information but what makes them apart? Emotions…
Humans have emotions associated with memories and memories associated with emotions that make them the finest creation of God. Sometimes, we tend to associate something with our memory, like a place, a song, an object, or a habit that draws us back into this loving nowhere.
We live in the present and the past lives in our memory so our present being has been carved out of our past.
In philosophy, visual perception is associated with the interaction between the sensory organs and the Antahkarana which comprises manas, buddhi, chitta, and ahamkara. What we perceive is shaped by our memory. So, memory contributes to what we are and what we become. It is a vital part of our existence and relations.
We remember a person through our memories, and we create memories to be remembered. We may not be in touch with our loved ones in this fast-paced world, but what connects us are the beautiful memories. At the same time, it also makes us feel the stings of pain in the heart in loneliness and in the crowd. We like to take a peek at our memories in the silence of our solitude. It is difficult to let go off bad memories as they are imprinted on every single cell of our physical existence.
What we could do is make more sweet memories.
The question is HOW????
यादें होटो पे मुस्कान छोड़ जाती है
कभी कभी आंखों में नामी भर जाति है
यादों के बिना जिंदगी अधूरी है,
जब यादें रूह में समा जाती है।

The answer lies in Gratitude. When we learn to live in gratitude each moment, it fills the heart with ever-flowing sweet, passionate, and unconditional love. Gratitude makes us humble and gives us a positive outlook toward life. There is always something good hidden behind bad experiences which we normally overlook but when we live in gratitude, we develop the habit of looking more towards the positives and overlook the negatives. We then offer thanks to the higher power for every single moment, incident, and person in our lives. And yes, I am counting my blessings and start my day with a heartfelt thank you!
In the words of Rumi, “Now I am sober and there is only the hangover and the memory of love.”
