Google Photos: A Pandora’s Box of precious Memories

A flashback to your past, that’s what Google Photos do every morning without fail. It is an assurance that someone is there to preserve your precious memories and remind you from time to time.

Today, as I scrolled through my photos, I was enraptured by the memories they held, and suddenly, I found myself lost in the past. It was as if I had been teleported back to the year 2018 when I had spent a beautiful day with my dearest friends. The moments captured in those photos floated before my eyes like a movie, and I couldn’t help but relive those moments with a sense of longing.

Suddenly, a message beep broke my chain of thoughts. I put the phone aside to start my work with a dreamy mind. The memories continued to linger, and I couldn’t help but wish I could fly back in time to relive those moments once again.

How I wish I could fly back in time,

Relive the beautiful moments left behind.

Time slips away the more I try to hold,

Float with time, that we were never told.

We keep holding onto memories,

Like holding onto God by the devotees

You have to let it go to realize,

You are a part of what you idealized.

It’s hard to let go, I agree,

But that is the only way to feel free.

The void it creates brings peace,

Only to be refilled with new memories.

Clutching onto memories is like chasing sunsets,

Leave the chase, it will happen again tomorrow.
