Embrace the Quietness in Solitude.

Feel the music in everything,

Silence will seem soothing,

You always have your own self

Connect, introspect, reciprocate

And you will discover the greatest wealth

Silence in chaos and peace in loneliness

Your heart will be filled with everlasting happiness.

I was going through my diary and came across these lines I wrote long ago during the lockdown days but always so relevant.

It’s no secret that we humans are social creatures. We thrive on connections and interactions with others. But the lockdown flipped our existence upside down and suddenly, we were forced to spend more time alone than ever before. Don’t worry I won’t remind you of the ghastly days but focus on the very essence of human existentialism.

I am introvert by nature, so I am mostly not excited about meeting new people. I would always prefer to stay back home and have me time or take a stroll outside alone. However, it’s not that I do not enjoy shopping, going out, or partying, I do but it depends on mood and my own circle of friends. But this way, I learnt to live with myself. Initially the silence was uncomfortable but gradually I started enjoying it. My thoughts would party in the quietness of my own solitude. I started enjoying the silence and my own company.

Loneliness may be scary for many but the key to conquering loneliness is to connect with yourself whom we have forgotten in the race against time. Loneliness may lead to depression that’s why we need to make time for our fellow humans but why to depend on someone for our own happiness? If you have someone to call upon, you are fortunate but if nobody answers, then don’t sweat it! It’s time we learn to live with ourselves in peace. After all, the company of self could not be so terrible or boring!

You may not have someone in the hour of need, maybe they are busy or when they catch up, you are busy. So, stay strong with yourself. Learn new things every day, expand your vision and wisdom, laugh with yourself, discover your inner self, and be yourself!

We need to make ourselves available for others and somehow if we do not have anybody then we have our best friend, our own self to be with.
